Amsterdam University Medical Centers
The department of Dermatology of the Amsterdam UMC, location Academic Medical Center (AMC) is a tertiary referral center for (pediatric) atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. The focus is on patient care and research, with a longstanding research track record in both diseases, including real-life data analysis using patients registries (TREAT, Psonet), biomarker research in atopic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis in different skin types, core outcomes in atopic dermatitis (HOME initiative) and therapeutic drug monitoring in psoriasis. For atopic dermatitis we have a collaboration with the Coronel Institute of Occupational Health focusing on biomarker research obtained through non-invasive techniques.
Role within BIOMAP
The Amsterdam UMC, location AMC will be involved in Work Package 1, objective 1.2: to refine clinical phenotypes and define relevant, patient-centred clinical outcomes (and instruments) relating to disease, progression, co-morbidities and response to therapy. We will also conduct a systematic review on phenotypes in atopic dermatitis and perform the BIOMAP NL study, which comprises the collection of body material samples of patients with atopic dermatitis starting treatment with systemic immunomodulating therapy or phototherapy. Furthermore, with our expertise on non-invasive detection of biomarkers for inflammatory skin diseases we will contribute to Work Package 6 on Biomarker Characterization and Validation.
