The University of Bristol is ranked within the top 10 UK universities in the QS Rankings 2019. The 2014 Research Excellence Framework confirmed the University of Bristol’s position as a leading centre for health research. The MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (MRC-IEU) at the University of Bristol conducts some of the UK's most advanced population health science research. It uses genetics, population data and experimental interventions to look for the underlying causes of chronic disease. Substantial investment from both the UK Medical Research Council and the University of Bristol provides resources for staff, research support and infrastructure to execute world-leading multi-disciplinary research in a vibrant, forward-looking environment.

Role within BIOMAP

Provide statistical expertise and analysts for the conducting of the genetic and molecular epidemiological analysis and causal inference (WP1, WP2, WP3). Coordinating access to several key datasets. Collect additional blood and skin samples from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) eczema recall study for additional profiling.
